AN IDEAL DAY IN MUMBAI

The vibrant city of Mumbai is the financial capital of India and is always bustling with activity. The city is an experience where you will constantly be hurried and jostled, so setting some time aside is ideal. But if you have just one day to take in the main sights of the city, it is best to relax properly the night before, and there’s no better way to do that than checking into one of the many luxury hotels in Mumbai, like the iconic ITC Maratha.

Begin your day with the complimentary breakfast at the hotel’s cafe, or you could hop over to Bandra to tuck into some amazing bakery produce. Explore the cafes on Hill Road, and discover cool street art while walking through Chapel Street. Discover the history of this charming Christian colony as you walk through its leafy streets. Try out delicious bagels as you walk by the sea on Carter road.

You cannot be in Mumbai and not try Vada Pav. Stop by a local shop in Dadar and try out the dish every Mumbaikar swears by. Next, look in at Dhobi Ghat, a unique laundry system peculiar to Mumbai. Visit the Haji Ali dargah in the Arabian Sea next.

Kill two birds with one stone by taking a boat ride to the fascinating Elephanta caves from the Gateway of India (an iconic symbol of the city). Spend the rest of the evening exploring the chic Colaba area. With a number of trendy boutiques, street shopping, eateries, and popular pubs and cafes, you will get a taste of Mumbai’s lively vibe here.

Spend your evening strolling on the breezy promenade along Marine Drive. Enjoy a beautiful and peaceful walk, and end your day with ice cream or fresh fruit juice from a local vendor.
